State Representative John Raney Receives 2013 Lone Star Conservative Leader Award

(BRYAN, TEXAS) State Representative John Raney (Bryan) has been awarded the 2013 Lone Star Conservative Leader Award by the Texas Conservative Roundtable for his outstanding leadership during the 83rd Legislative Session.

The Texas Conservative Roundtable is a nonpartisan coalition of concerned business leaders and citizens who have come together to ensure that Texas remains a national and world leader for economic activity and quality of life. They expect elected officials to maintain low taxes, a streamlined and predictable regulatory environment, a reliable infrastructure, and a transparent and efficient government.

Executive Director Chuck Hahn said, “In our opinion, the legislators awarded the honor best represent the thoughtful, conservative public policy that makes Texas the best state in which to do business. We are proud to honor their leadership accomplishments.”

“Being recognized by the Texas Conservative Roundtable for working towards responsible, conservative solutions is a great honor I will continue to uphold,” Representative Raney said. “Committing to advancing business and economic interests with a consistent and common sense approach is something I do not take lightly.”

Representative Raney recently completed his first full term in the Texas House of Representatives. He serves on the Committee on Higher Education, the Committee on House Administration, and the Committee on Appropriations, where he serves on the subcommittee on Budget Transparency and Reform and as Vice Chair of the subcommittee on Articles VI, VII, and VIII.
