Representative John Raney is proud to announce the endorsement of leading law enforcement and fire fighter associations in Texas.
The Texas Municipal Police Association (TMPA), Texas Department of Public Safety Officers Association (DPSOA), and the Texas State Association of Fire Fighters (TSAFF), are statewide associations that advocate for issues concerning public safety in the areas of policing and fire protection, respectively. These organizations include Bryan and College Station police departments, fire departments, sheriff department, and Brazos County-based State Troopers within their membership. Representative Raney was a strong supporter of our law enforcement and fire fighters by voting in support of various bills including; banning sanctuary cities, funding border security, and expanding coverage for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) related treatments.
“When it comes to standing up for law enforcement, we trust the leadership of John Raney,” Mitch Landry, Deputy Executive Director of the Texas Municipal Police Association said. “In the face of misleading attacks against our profession, we are confident in his ability to advocate for the issues important to the men and women who wear the badge.”
DPSOA, whose membership includes those responsible for the state efforts at securing the border, stopping human trafficking, and preventing the flow of illegal drugs to our communities, voiced their support for Representative Raney.
“We believe that Representative Raney has a strong record of supporting law enforcement and the state’s commissioned peace officers,” DPSOA President Jimmy Jackson said. “…We want to add our voice in recognition of his efforts to champion these good causes.”
The Texas State Association of Fire Fighters (TSAFF) also recognized and praised Representative Raney for his leadership, and were grateful for his pursuit of policies that supported and protected fire departments ability to protect communities across Texas.
“To have the trust of those men and women in law enforcement and fire fighting is an honor beyond words. These brave public servants put their lives on the line every day to protect our streets from criminals, to stop drugs and human trafficking on our border, and to protect our property from fire. Their support is truly a blessing,” Representative Raney said.
Representative Raney also serves as a member of the TEEX Central Texas Police Academy Advisory Board.
TMPA, DPSOA, and TSAFF join more than a dozen organizations including economic leadership groups, pro-life associations, conservative policy advocates, the Texas A&M PAC, and teachers groups in endorsing Representative Raney for reelection to HD-14.
