Today, State Representative John Raney (R-Bryan) released an initial list of endorsements in  his reelection campaign for the Texas House of Representatives. Since 2011, Raney has served the people  of District 14 in the Texas House of Representatives, an area of Brazos County that includes Bryan and College  Station, as well as the main campus of Texas A&M University. 

“I’m honored and humbled to have the support of so many renowned business leaders, elected officials, and  community leaders in Brazos County,” said Raney. “With the Biden Administration actively working to  weaken the Texas economy, now is not the time for untested, inexperienced leadership in the Texas  Legislature. I’m the only candidate in this race with a proven record of defending our conservative values,  cutting taxes, securing the border, defending the unborn, restoring our Second Amendment rights,  safeguarding our elections, and supporting Texas A&M University.” 

A sixth-generation Texan, John Raney is a lifelong resident of the Brazos Valley. John is a proud graduate of  Texas A&M University (Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 1969) and the owner of Texas Aggieland Bookstore,  which has served the Texas A&M community for over fifty years.  

In the Texas House, Raney serves on the House Committee on Appropriations and the House Committee on  Higher Education. He is the founding Chairman of the Aggie Legislative Caucus and a member of the House  Republican, Eagle Ford Shale, Education, Energy, Farm-to-Table, General Aviation, Legislative Tourism,  Military Communities, Sportsman’s, TEX-21, Texas Manufacturers, and Texas Veterans Caucuses. 

John and his wife, Elizabeth, have two adult daughters and eight grandchildren. For over fifty years, the Raney family has been active members of First United Methodist Church in Bryan. John remains actively involved in Aggie sports and numerous civic and philanthropic organizations in the community.
