Speaker Bonnen Appoints Rep. Raney To New Committees

Austin, TX – Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives, Dennis Bonnen (R-Angleton), has released the full list of House Committee appointments for the 86th Legislative Session.


State Representative John Raney (R-Bryan/College Station) is pleased to be appointed to the House Committee on Transportation and the House Committee on International Relations/Economic Development.


“Transportation needs of the Brazos Valley are plentiful and I am grateful for the opportunity Speaker Bonnen has bestowed upon me with this appointment. International Relations/Economic Development will oversee important legislation including manufacturing, workforce training, job creation, and domestic and international relations. Both of these committees compliment one another and will greatly affect our community. I am eager to serve in these roles and I look forward to getting to work,” Rep. Raney said.


Serving since 2011, Representative Raney is a proud sixth-generation Texan, and is long-time community member of the Bryan-College Station area, as well as a small-business owner for fifty years. He is the Chair of the Aggie Legislative Caucus, a member of the Republican Caucus, serves on the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service’s Central Texas Police Academy Advisory Board.
